Group Supervision Workshop with A/Prof Alison McEwen

Group supervision creates opportunities for us to reflect on our work with our colleagues and peers. While some genetic counsellors value and enjoy group supervision, others find it challenging to allow themselves to be vulnerable to fully reflect on their work. During the May 2024 ASGC workshop, we’ll explore what group supervision is (and what it is not), the conditions required for effective group supervision, and the roles of facilitators and supervisees. We’ll look at the differences and similarities with peer supervision.

I’ll share some of the theory that underpins group supervision and some resources to use in both group and peer supervision. There will be time to talk in small groups. Please come ready to share ideas and experiences.

Email your burning questions to [email protected] before the session so I can come prepared!
