ASPECT Autism Friendly Presentation Wednesday, 3^rd April 2024 at 1pm -2.30pm AEST

Thanks to joint funding by HGSA and HGSA NSW Branch, we look forward to ASPECT (Autism Spectrum Australia) presenting to the HGSA Membership on autism and inclusivity. They will discuss their Autism Friendly framework to make recommendations on:

• Culture of Inclusion
• Preparation and Predictability
• Structure and Visual Organisation
• Sensory Adaptations
• Communication Supports
• Proactive Problem Solving
• Staff training

The presenters are:

Garry Ryan. Garry has spent the last 10 years working within Aspect primary schools and joined the Autism Friendly team in 2024. As a proud AuDHD’er (Autistic & ADHD) they use their lived and professional experience to help create a more inclusive and Autism Friendly world.

Dr Tom Tutton is Executive Manager, Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) supporting Aspect’s Autism Friendly work.  Tom trained as a Clinical Psychologist in the UK and has worked for Aspect for 18 years with direct service, training, writing, management and research. Tom is passionate about working in partnership with Autistic people to deliver evidence-based supports that develop inclusive environments and communities that work for everyone.
