FaceMatch Update: Consortium Participation Now Open
Consortium participation is now open to clinical geneticists and genetic counsellors.
FaceMatch, the MRFF-funded AI facial phenotyping initiative led by Professor Tracy Dudding-Byth (University of Newcastle/Hunter New England Local Health District), is continuing to expand its national reference database for syndromic intellectual disability.
Consortium members will have access to:
  • Reverse phenotyping against a growing national image database.
  • Optional linkage with the Matchmaker Exchange for national and international case matching.
  • A structured diagnostic pathway for patients with intellectual disability who remain undiagnosed following exome sequencing, including review and feedback from the FaceMatch team.
Participation is designed to minimise clinician workload. Parent consent and image upload are managed entirely through a secure online platform, so clinicians simply provide the FaceMatch information brochure to families of diagnosed or undiagnosed patients, either before or after exome sequencing.
If you would like further information or are interested in joining the consortium, please contact Henry Gomez, Project Officer, at [email protected], or Professor Tracy Dudding-Byth at [email protected].au.
