Participants invited for research survey on parent-to-child communication about inherited conditions

Healthcare professionals are invited to take part in an anonymous online survey exploring perspectives on how parents communicate with children about inherited conditions. The study aims to better understand current professional practices, perceived challenges, and support needs in this area.

This Australian study is adapted from a previous Portuguese survey (Seidi et al., 2025) and is part of an international project comparing perspectives and practices across countries. Ethics approval was granted by the University of Melbourne (HREC 34271).

Eligible participants are Australian, English-speaking healthcare professionals with experience in parent-to-child communication about inherited conditions. This may include, but is not limited to, clinical geneticists, genetic counsellors, psychologists, and nurses.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.
