JBMR Plus Special Edition on Hypophosphataemic Bone Disorders

The Australia and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS) is excited to announce a call for original research and case reports on hypophosphataemic bone disorders. Hypophosphataemic bone disorders encompass a group of genetic and acquired conditions that lead to a range of musculoskeletal abnormalities and systemic complications from childhood through to adulthood. They often present a diagnostic challenge requiring a multidisciplinary approach for effective management. This initiative by ANZBMS aims to encourage healthcare professionals, researchers, and experts in the field to provide their experience and expertise to disseminate high quality research exploring various aspects of hypophosphataemic bone disorders (other than nutritional rickets) and its management, including but not limited to:

1. X-linked hypophosphataemia
2. Autosomal dominant hypophosphataemic rickets
3. Tumour-induced osteomalacia
4. Ferric carboxymaltose infusion induced hypophophataemia
5. Other rare forms of hypophosphataemic bone disorders

We aim to compile valuable clinical insights and experiences related to hypophosphataemic bone disorders, contributing to improved understanding, diagnosis and treatment strategies. Young children as well as older adults affected by these conditions may benefit from research that informs both clinicians and scientists and advances the management of hypophosphataemic disorders. Submissions by clinicians and scientists at all career stages are encouraged. ANZBMS membership is not required.
